Hope everyone had a great time celebrating the dads in your lives! I sure did.
Hubby has been just a marvelous father. Even though he was deployed during Amazing Daughter’s early years, he was very hands on. One example was when she was four and he was on some deployment (forgot which place!), he read Alice and Wonderland over the phone. It was their time.
Well this past weekend was his time. He was treated to a morning of what he called girlie stuff… massage and a facial. He said afterwards, he could get use to that! Amazing Daughter told him to man up….
Next we treated him to a beer tasting event. Since I do not drink beer, I was the driver. We went to one of our favorite places. The beers selected were from nations participating in the World Cup. I enjoy listening to the histories of the beers. Hubby and Amazing Daughter were more interested in the tastes.
Here is the program…
We went from light to dark in color.
The first beer was from Brazil, Brahma. Who knew they made beer? Please note: I did not get a picture of all beers and bottles. I was busy listening to the MC and everyone talking about the taste of each beer.
Next was a beer from the Netherlands called Grotsch. I like the bottle of this one.
And the beer…
That was followed with a snack plate of cheese, wings, carrots, and celery.
Back to the beer…. Belgium was next. A wheat beer called Hoegaarden.
This was followed by more food. They fed you well!
Next, the beers got darker. Germany was represented by a smoked beer, Aecht Schenkerla.
After more food the final beer from England was brought out. It was Marston’s Oyster Stout.
In our group the surprise was the beer from Brazil. They said it was perfect for summer. The overall favorite was the stout from England. This was only because they had had the smoked beer from Germany before.
It was a great day for Hubby. He deserved it!
