I do not know of any other time of the year where your house is transformed into a magical place. Okay, for those two seconds after you have cleaned it…
Christmas is about tradition. It is about your family. It is about realizing what the season is really here for. Toting up the bins that hold our Christmas treasures is not a task. It is a trip down memory lane. It is unwrapping a piece of personal history.
When it comes to decorating in our house it all about the man, Santa. I love Santa. He is the cornerstone of our home for these few weeks!
Welcome to our home!
I have several of these sleds. In our dining room this just greets us with a homey feeling.
Just love this platter next to the balls.
I used an old cake stand for the display.
Santa’s in the kitchen.
On our bench that is in the entry way, seasonal pillows and some very old wooden ice skates greet our guest.
An old vase is the centerpiece of just adding color.
You cannot forget the literature.
Several years ago I feel in love with Russian painted Santa’s. I currently only have a few. They are just beautiful. I cannot imagine the time it took for the details!
We are enjoying just dimming the lights and watching the season glow.
I will be back tomorrow with part two.
